Boise, ID – The J.R. Simplot Company has named Brent Hocklander its next Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Hocklander will take over for Brent Moylan who announced his retirement earlier this year.
“Brent brings a wealth of international experience and expertise to this position,” Simplot President and CEO Garrett Lofto said about Hocklander. “His solutions-driven approach to solving complex challenges in the global marketplace has expedited results in our food business and I know will contribute greatly to the continued success of our entire Company.”
Hocklander joined Simplot in 2020 as Vice President of Finance in its Global Food division where he was instrumental in bringing together two legacy finance organizations — the former Food Group division and Simplot Australia.
In his new role, Hocklander will report directly to Lofto and become the newest member of the Simplot Leadership Team (SLT). He will begin transitioning into his role in September, supported by Moylan whose retirement is effective December 31, 2024. Prior to joining Simplot, Hocklander spent 16 years at Micron in a variety of Finance leadership positions including roles in Managerial Cost Accounting, Global Cost Planning, and other Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) groups.
Born and raised in Idaho, Hocklander grew up in the south-central part of the state and has lived in the Boise area for more than 30 years with his wife and their two adult daughters. Hocklander is an avid cyclist, and he and his family also enjoy hiking, traveling and spending time in Idaho’s outdoors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business and an MBA from Boise State University.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity and excited to broaden my experience with the J.R. Simplot Company,” said Hocklander. “Brent and the finance team have established a strong foundation for the organization, and I look forward to joining in that effort.”
Moylan retires after 29 years with the Company, including serving as SVP and CFO for the past five years.
“We thank Brent (Moylan) for his tremendous service over the years and wish him and his wife, Laura, a healthy and happy retirement,” Lofto said. “He has been an engaged member of our team, leading Finance and delivering on several strategic initiatives aimed at transforming our Finance team into a global forward-thinking organization.”
